so today at Keele was the annual varsity game against Staffs 'uni'. Basically it is a massive day full of all things sports. rugby, basketball, hockey, football, fencing and a bunch of other sports but i dont remember them all. So sad i wasnt there cuz last year was soo much fun. I did watch it live stream though on the internet (whilst in class opps) almost crying with how awesome keele played. 16 sports played, we won 13-3. oo staffs why do you even come.
i realized though that i did not tell you guys about last years game. To be honest didnt watch most of the sports but was still a good day. I had been up all night writing a paper for my british government class, so i didnt really want to go i just wanted to sleep. but jess alex and chrissy being true to form told me no. alex made me a cup of her famous 'you will never sleep again' coffee and off we went. we started watching the girls rugby game. and it was so incredibly brutal. staffs players were going down left and right and would not go back on the field. to which i said "kick them in the head if they stay down they are staffs. if they get up they are keele!" only later did we find out a girl did get kicked in the head and had to go to hospital. it was funny at the time and still is.
we then went and watched girls football well jess and alex did. chrissy and I were too busy watching (read staring) the men's rugby game. this was around the time that jess decided it was a good idea to eat chocolate off the ground and alex said "omg it all makes sense it is football cuz they kick the ball with their foot" genius.
then chrissy and i went to watch guys basketball to which i spent the entire game explaining to her how the game was played. however keel got their butts handed to them in a really bad slaughter.
however keele made history by winning varsity over all, first time it has ever happened not on home turf. so we were proud. and then i went home and slept for 14 hours. chrissy kept coming to my door cuz she thought i was dead. woke up to a billion texts and fb messages saying "becca please let me know if you are alive. i keep making sure you are breathing but i need to be for sure"
such a fun day.
