. Such a cute little (actually compared to the houses back in his time not so little) house and the gardens were really pretty- well atleast what was left of them were really pretty. After leaving Willy's house we made the 1 mile journey to Anne Hathaway's cottage. Now this cottage in the summer time and spring time is truly incredible with all of the flowers and how pretty it is. In the fall/winter time it is still pretty stunning it is just less colorful.
Plus there was a mushroom in the garden, I think that was Spartnik jr's favorite part.
While at the cottage we asked random questions, bought some flower seeds for my mom and had a deep discussion about which country has the best chocolate- Switzerland won! We then journey back to Stratford and on this journey morgan told me again how much my Harry Potter obsession scares her. It should. We then went and saw Shakespeare's grave. It was very anti climatic. seriously I was expecting a huge statue but all it was, was a stone slab.
Adorable right? He is buried in Holy Trinity Church and it was also here that he was baptised and they claim he was also married there but there is no actual proof of that so dont believe it.
We were running out of time to see things because everything closed at 4 (wtf is that about) so we were going to give up and just wander for a while but we stumbled upon Nash House/New place. This is the site where Shakespeare lived before he died in 1616. The actual house was destroyed in the 18th century and this summer they started a dig for the foundation of the house. It was here that I started playing the sand box. It was like being a child again!

I do have a picture of me playing in the sand box and of me kissing a gargoyle but Morgan has yet to send them to me. Maybe one day I will get them but I doubt it will happen.
So after leaving the house we strolled over to the river Avon which was so pretty. what is it about rivers that just makes everything pretty?

We were going to wander around stratford for 4 hours before our train left but everything seriously closed at 5. It was crazy! So we headed back to the station and left 4 hours earlier than planned. It was a fun day though. And I will admit I am not Shakespeare's biggest fan. I like watching his plays but reading them makes me suicidal. I am interested in what JK Rowling's tour will be like when she dies in 100 years. That will be the coolest trip of all!
