Happy Halloween!!!

As you all know Halloween is the best holiday in the history of the world! free candy and you get scared out of your mind for fun. Who ever invented this holiday deserves an award! Although this year there was no trick or treating for me which is sad because this is the first year in 19 years that I have not been trick-or-treating. I will admit it is the one bad thing about England. I did however carve a very adorable pumpkin.

Mine is the pumpkin and his name is Parry the petit Pumpkin (because all of the pumpkins we could find were so little) and the bat is Morgan's his name is Frank the tank.
Last night I went to the Halloween Monster Forest Ball with my flatmates. Fun FUN times!
We went as the corpse wedding party. . .kind of. The story is as follows. Jess (the groom) and Lauren (the bride) were going to get married until Jess found out that Lauren had cheated on him with the best man roger (you know the onion)so she killed Lauren and all the Bridemaids (Me and Chrissy) and then married Alex instead.

The party was great fun especially towards the end when Chrissy was drunk out of her mind and just kept going off like a drunk person. We entertained a bunch of guys at the chapel afterwards because of Chrissy being so drunk and Alex just being Alex. Luckily we were able to ditch both stalkers, make it home safetly, pick up a random t-shirt along the way, eat disgusting wedding cake and get the RA called on us for being so loud all before 5 AM. It truly was a fantastic night!

laundry at midnight

Just cuz it is normal I decided to do my laundry at weird time during the night. I walked into the laundry room to get my clothes out of the dryer and there are 3 drunk guys in there doing thier laundry. I am a pro at listening in on conversations so of course I was listening to what they were saying and this is the conversation. . . give or take a few words."
really drunk guy sitting on the couch "I just got kicked off my course"
Friends "how did you manage that one?"
RDGSOTC "I dont know it just happened."
Friends "What are you doing now"
RDGSOTC "I got kicked off"
Friends "yes but what are you doing now that you got kicked out?"
RDGSOTC "Im doing my laundry! Hey (to me) you cant wear an Oxford sweatshirt here. this isnt oxford this is Keele"
Me "Yes I can"
Friends to RDGSOTC " what are you talking about. this is Oxford"
The really drunk guy pulls out his Keele card "No it says right here Keele university"
friends" Keele means student. We are at Oxford."
the really drunk guy just looked really confused and then started babbling about everyone being in pajamas. It was the funniest moment of my life.

except for when i set off the fire alarm earlier today. I was in the kitched with my flatmates just hanging out like we usually do and I started creeping out because I just got back from my lecture and wanted to put my stuff in my room. I kicked the broom,it fell and barely tapped the fire alarm and off it went. It took us like 5 mintues to figure out what the noise was. So we all walk out side, two girls with their dinner in their hands, 3 girls went to go get shoes and jumpers and we are all just laughing hysterically. It was the best moment of my life. After we got back inside one of my roommates gave me an ice cream cone for setting the alarm off. which made Jess retort with "Welcome to England. where we reward you for bad behavior." and then she brutally killed Roger by throwing him down the corridor. :( Or maybe she killed him when she stabbed him earlier today either way he is now dead. RIP Roger.

update!!! while putting my laundry away I realized I lost one of my favorite socks! It has pooh bear on it and says 'feeling wobbly'. I was soo depressed but then I went on a mission to find my sock. 2 in the morning I am walking all around Lindsay Hall trying to find my sock. I FOUND IT! It was outside laying in the street all alone and abbandoned. I brought it home though. dont you worry.

#6

Literally run into platform 9 3/4

It was painful but so worth it. I finally made it to Hogwarts!!! Yay!

What is London with out a little rain?

first off before I had even left campus for the day I knew it was going to be an amazing day. Why you may ask. Well as I was waiting for the bus there was this group of kids on the opposite side of the street and one of them looked like Draco Malfoy. He had the uniform on and the green slythering tie and the really blond hair. O man I was so incredibly stoked. Hogwarts does exist!

Why yes that is me hugging a giant cement ball. . . in LONDON! I love London with all of my heart and it seriously is my favorite city in the entire world (except Hogsmeade but that doesn't count cuz Hogsmeade is a village not a city)
Our first stop on this journey was to Notting Hill. You know the place from that famous movie call Notting Hill. We stopped at the little blue door. . . which is not so much blue anymore as it is black and the Travel Book Shop where Hugh Grant worked in the movie. It was a tender moment. Kind of, Im not in love with the movie but for others who are this is for them.

After Notting Hill we walked to Kensington Gardens to see Peter Pan and to find the mysterious button. None of these things happened. Sad I know but it will be ok. I have 9 months left, plenty of time to push the button. We walked through the park and can I tell you how much I love Kensington Gardens? It is such a gorgeous place and it is so peaceful. How is it possible that it stands in the center of London?!

I do have much better pictures of Kensington Gardens but something is wrong with them and they wont upload so you get Spartnik Jr pictures instead. As soon as i get the problem fixed I will post better pictures.
After walking through part of Kensington Gardens and past Kensington Palace the home to Princess Diana, we walked down the street with all the Embassies along it. Where I made the very hard decision about whether or not I should say hello to the bobby holding a gun. . . I said hello and I lived to tell you about it. He said hi back. Later on down the street I told a man he was doing a lovely job of painting a door white. He just gave me a strange look. We walked from Kensington Gardens, through Knightsbridge because we had to go see Harrods of course.
We then headed towards Buckingham Palace. Which I must admit is not as pretty or awesome as everyone thinks it is. I mean yay the Queen lives here but that is about all the appeal it has to me but I do love visiting it everytime.
It was while we were visitng the queen that the rain started falling and when I say falling I mean it was out with a vengence. I love it! You cant have England with out Rain. I just wish it wasnt so cold.

I got a nice splash of water in my face right as the picture in front of parliament was taken. and of course my typical "it is raining" pose in front of the fountains at Buckingham Palace. So obviously we walked down to Parliament square while it was raining and got pretty much soaked but it was fun. I got to see my long lost best friend the cement ball. Still dont know why it is there but I love it anyway.
We then finally got to Parliament and I could just hear Wendy saying "mommy what is that?" We walked across Westminster Bridge to do the "i am touching the top of big ben picture" and then we retreated into a cafe to try and dry off. . . it was unsuccessful.

After leaving Parliament (I have yet to find the door inside!) we walked to Trafalgar square to see where all the distances in London ar measured from. Unfortunately it was too dark to get a picture of the hourse's backside but next time I am there I will get one.

After Trafalgar square we did what any tourist in London would do and headed towards PLATFORM 9 3/4! Harry Potter FTW!!!! It was brilliant although I am very upset that they were doing construction on the platform where the movie was filmed and they shoved the sign in a back corner where it won't bother anyone. Do they not understand that this is HARRY freaking POTTER? of course I went through the wall and I am now happily studying at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.

It was a wonderful ending to an amazing day in London. Although the best part may have been when we were on the train back and this guy found out that we were American. He asked us to say "Tomato in America" does he know that Americans speak the same language as the British. . .I guess not. O well.

cheaters cheaters pumpkin eaters

I have two words for you. . .Rolo Mcflurry. yeah I know my mind was blown as well.
It was after I saw this sign that I knew there was no way I could ever go back to Amercia. I mean oreo and m&m? What is that? Here is is all about the Cadabury Chocolate (that is right Jordan) mcflurry and smarties mcflurry. I dont even like mcdonalds and I am still exctied about this discover. That and the fact that I can buy 4 Kiwi for 50P kind of excited about that.

Tonight I went to a pub quiz with 5 of my flatmates at the SU (for those who are challenged that stands for Student Union). We were totally rocking at it, answering questions like it was no ones buisness. I even answered one about american football. . . that is right I know my foot ball teams. The North Carolina Cardinals and the Pittsburg panthers. We even found out that I know more about British History than my british flatmates. O hell I know more British History than the queen.
We totally would have won. In fact our score was 52. . .we tied for first place but we were disqualified!!! I know it is outrageous. Why were we disqualified? Cuz apperantly we cheated and 3 other teams complained about it. Given we did cheat but so did everyone else. I mean really how old are we now, just cuz we were the loudest doesnt me you have to be all grumpy about life. Pull the big stick out of your bottom and just have fun. We will get them next time though we have a new scheme and we shall never be caught! Although we did get free drinks because the guy in charge felt bad he had to disqualify us. So it was a win/ win situation if you ask me.

Things I have learned to love

England is a very strange country when it comes to food and pretty much everything else. They say pissed instead of drunk. full stop instead of period. boot instead of trunk. he is fit instead of he is hot. Over the weekend my flatmate Jess and I got into a very serious discussion about what crisps, chips and fries. Very confusing stuff. It has only been 3 weeks that I have been here but I am learning to love all the crazy things they do. But I have come to love two very important food products over here in the UK. The first. . . Digestives. They are biscuits and they are delicious and they taste like grahm crackers. Seriously it is just a round Grahm cracker

Number 2 is Nutella. I know I am soo behind on this bandwagon. everyone is so obsessed with Nutella everywhere you go but I tried it for the first time last night and it was delicious. I guess there is no going back now. I have been converted to the. . . dark side?
I am still getting used to them driving on the wrong side of the road though. The 'look both ways before crossing the street' rule is a good one I always follow. . . unless it is written on the road which way to look.

Who needs alcohol when you have. . . post its?

My flatmates are a little bit insane. I love them all. . . well the ones that I have met. We have two others who live here but we never see. suspicious! But the 5 remaining are pretty awesome, if not a little bit crazy. During freshers week they took the liberty of decorating our kitchen very uniquly.

Pretty sure I just live there, I have nothing to comment about anything on those walls. Taking a night off for the partying they have been doing we had what is being refered to as a 'quiet night'. Personally I am not convinced they weren't drunk.

See here is the story. Our friend Roger is dating Jeremy and they have three kids ermentrude, Chicken and Alejandro. Roger however is cheating on Jeremy with Chicken the surrogate mother of the three kids. however jeremy is cheating on roger with his other boyfriend Chlamydia.Neither of them know about the others affair. Roger is also suicidal he refuses to stay up on the wall.

Dont worry, if I didnt live with them all I would be scared too.
