To ye old Salisury

It was a very long day for me today. A very long but AMAZING day! For my first adventure in England I went to Salisbury. It actually started out as just a trip to see Stonehenge but then I realized that Salisbury Cathedral is in the same area AND the Stonehenge tour we decided to go on included a free entrance ticket to Old Sarum Castle. So of course we had to go.
Awake by 5:30, if you know me then you know that I am so far from being a morning person I deny they even exist. Luckily I had my handy dandy Dr Pepper nearby to wake me up. We caught the Train to someplace that I do not remember at 8:07. We are seriously that good because we were planning on the 8:44 train. It however was a 4 hour train ride. 4 hours!that is how long it took to fly from Salt Lake to Orlando. But it gave Morgan enough time to sleep. and me enough time to take a 45 minute nap, take random pictures out the window and read 9 chapters of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. That is right I brought it with me. We thought we were doing so well because the buses to Stonehenge left every 30 hour according to the website. but like they say never trust what you read on the internet. we had missed the bus by 20 minutes and the next one didnt leave until 1, forty minutes later. So we did the logical thing and walked to Salisbury Cathedral and we managed to do so with out getting lost! While walking to the Cathedral we were taking a lot of pictures, you know acting like the tourists that we were. In fact this guy and his wife stopped behind me because they didnt want to ruin my picture. I tried to apologize to them and he said "You are a tourist this is how you are suppossed to be acting".

O Saisbury Cathedral. It was gorgeous and it smelled like a Cathedral. If i say I love that smell will you think I am wierd? cuz I love that smell. I love the baptism font they have in the center of the church. you can look into it and see the whole cathedral reflected in it. and although there is water flowing through it all the time the surface never ripples. it is pretty amazing. . The coolest part about the cathedral is the fact that it houses 1 of the 4 remaining copies of the Magna Carta, so of course we had to see it. However it is a good thing we ignore the "no photography rule" otherwise we would not have this lovely picture.
Affer we saw everything there was to see at the Cathedral we got on the bus and headed to Old Sarum. Apperantly I have been there before but I don't remember it. Atleast I didn't until we walked into the gift shop. O yes this is the place where my sister Rachell got here Princess, Knight and Monk dolls. They were the best part of our Europe trip in 2001. The castle is no longer standing, in fact it really is a bunch of rocks that they claim was this famous/improtant castle. However it was really cool to see what was left of it and to imagine what it would have looked like back in its time.

and finally we were on our way to Stonehenge after waiting 20 minutes at the bus stop. Surprisingly I was quite excited to see it. Why surprisingly? Because I have already seen in twice before. But it is like they say the third time is the charm.
It really was worth the journey it took to get there and it is truly amazing that those stones are still standing after so many years. We walked around the stones very slowly and took like a combined 300 pictures. 300 pictures of a pile of rocks. . . who does that?!
Back on the bus we made the mistake of sitting in the front so that we could see everything as we drove back to Salisbury. Well it doesnt sound like a bad idea but Alex was driving. For most of the journey we were driving in the middle of the road and we almost killed a guy in his little blue car. There were times we were 2 inches from hitting another car and I am 99.9% sure that we hit a billboard. It was like being on a rollercoaster. An expierance that was quite scary but fun. All in all the whole day was so much fun and nothing bad happened at all. We didnt get lost, we didnt miss our train and end up on a 10 hour journey back that night. Personally I can not wait until our next adventure.
